ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR:
California State University system (CSU) and University of California (UC) system

ENGLISH - 4 YEARS

MATH - 3 YEARS (ALGEBRA I, GEOMETRY, ALGEBRA II)

HISTORY - 2 YEARS (WORLD HISTORY AND U.S. HISTORY)

SCIENCE - 2 YEARS (1 YEAR BIOLOGY AND 1 YEAR CHEMISTRY OR PHYSICS)

WORLD LANGUAGES - 2 YEARS (SAME LANGUAGE BOTH YEARS)

VISUAL/PERFORMING ARTS - 1 YEAR (ART, DRAMA, OR MUSIC)

ELECTIVES - 1 YEAR (CHOSEN FROM SELECTED AREAS)

ALL REQUIRED CLASSES MUST BE COMPLETED WITH GRADES OF "C" OR BETTER.
ALL CLASSES MUST BE COLLEGE PREP OR HIGHER


FOR UC SYSTEM:
Must complete 7 of 15 entrance requirements in last two years of high school.

FOUR (4) YEAR HIGH SCHOOL PLAN:

9th Grade: English 1, Math, Beg PE, Elective (Science, World Language, Fine Art, etc.), Elective, Elective

10th Grade: English II, Math, World History, Elective (Science, World Language, Fine Art, etc.), Elective, Elective

11th Grade: English III, Math, U.S. History, Elective (Science, World Language, Fine Art, etc.), Elective, Elective

12th Grade: English IV, American Government/Economics, Elective (required courses still needed for graduation), Elective, Elective, Elective

TESTING:

PSAT:

Sign up with ASB Bookkeeper. Pick up the student bulletin when you sign up and use it to study for the test. Fee waivers are available based on financial need.

SAT AND ACT TESTS:

Plan to take SAT and/or ACT in the Spring. If you are planning to attend a UC school, you must also take SAT II.

FEE WAIFERS:

If you cannot afford the test fees, check out the fee waiver. You must bring a copy of your parent's 2006 Income Tax Return.

BE SURE YOU PLAN IN ORDER TO GRADUATE! Make every effort this year to catch up by taking some or all of the following:

ROP CLASSES AFTER SCHOOL
WORK EXPERIENCE OR EXPLORATORY WORK EXPERIENCE (VOLUNTEERING)
VVC CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT
SUMMER SCHOOL

PROGRESS REPORTS:

Begin on Friday, August 31, 2007 (My grades are current every Monday). You may pick up a progress report in my room. Use only on Fridays or Mondays.

TUTORIAL SERVICES:

After school tutorial and computer lab sessions are available. To ensure maximum quality time with a tutor, an appointment is required.
There are tutorial materials for SAT and subject tutoring available.

SECOND SEMESTER CLASS CHANGES:

You must see your counselor by the end of the second week in January.
